The short version
Outcode has no servers and no accounts. The iPhone app talks only to the Outcode daemon on your own Mac, inside your own Tailscale network. We don’t collect analytics, crash reports or usage data, and there are no third-party SDKs in the app.
What stays on your iPhone
The address of your Mac and a per-device access token, stored in the iOS Keychain. Sessions, diffs and command output are fetched from your Mac when you look at them and are not uploaded anywhere else.
What stays on your Mac
The daemon keeps its state in ~/.outcode: your registered projects, session and command history, images you attach, and a list of paired devices. For each device it stores only a SHA-256 hash of its token, so the token itself never sits on disk on the Mac.
Builds you install
When a command finishes with an install-ready build, the daemon packages it on your Mac and serves it on a random, HTTPS-only link that only answers inside your tailnet and expires after an hour. iOS downloads it straight from your Mac. Outcode doesn’t upload them anywhere else.
Claude
Sessions run through Claude Code on your Mac under your own Claude login, exactly as they would in the terminal. Prompts, files Claude reads and images you attach are sent to Anthropic as part of that, under your agreement with Anthropic. Outcode doesn’t see or store them anywhere else.
Tailscale
Your phone reaches your Mac over Tailscale, which encrypts traffic end to end with WireGuard. Tailscale’s coordination service knows which of your devices are on your tailnet; it can’t read the traffic. If you enable HTTPS for over-the-air installs, Tailscale issues a certificate for your Mac’s name, and certificate names are published in public Certificate Transparency logs. Rename the machine first if its name is personal.
Camera, microphone and speech
The camera scans the pairing QR code and takes photos you choose to attach. The microphone is used only while you dictate. Dictation uses Apple’s speech recognition, on the device whenever your iPhone supports it.
This website
outcode.matyasprochazka.cz is a static site. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
